Plating/Anodizing
General Chem carries a variety of liquid masking products for anodizing and plating. Plate Off Mask 4210 is solvent based MASKANT Polymeric Vinyl peelable Coatings provide protection in two ways; by forming tough, flexible films with extremely low , they stop substrate corrosion caused by electrolytic action or the presence of water-borne oxygen. In addition, the usually thick film provides physical protection against surface damage, abrasion or move and have proven that they provide a high degree of protection against acid and alkali attack. Plate Off Mask 4210 is very easy way to apply strippable coating for the protection of substrates from scratching and marring. Plate Off Mask 4210 is useful for substrate protection during polishing, handling and long term storage. Plate Off Mask 4210 is impregnated with transparent blue dye for easy visual inspection as well as identification and is non-staining and stable to 100 degrees Celsius. General Chem carries a variety of liquid masking products for anodizing and plating.
These liquid chemical masking products are used as stop-offs for anodizing, chromate conversion coating, and other plating on metals. Mask-It is fast drying (usually an hour at room temperature) and is resistant to most chemical processes normally required to anodize or electroplate.
It is completely resistant to hot solutions up to 210°F and is tinted blue for better scribe line visibility. The cured film is tack-free and will not adhere to itself or other parts.
Main Advantages
- Results in a reduction of labor costs.
- Once cured, it provides an extremely tough, uniform film.
- Curing time can be cut considerably with the use of heat lamps (100°F), circulation of air, and other factors.
- Easily removed. Peels off in sheets which eliminates messy hand scrapping.
- Safe, non-flammable.
- Suitable for plastic and painted surfaces.
COVERAGE
One liter will cover approximately 4 square meters at a dry film thickness of 100 microns. You can also use following chart to calculate in mil thickness and gallon coverage.
